LEE P. CAREY 81: Lee passed away April 4, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Amy, in Lake Stevens, WA (just north of Seattle) after complications from a heart procedure.
Lee was born on Nov. 30,1933 to George and Dorothy Carey in Evanston, IL.
Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. After leaving the military, Lee operated a charter Airline service out of Pal-Waukee Airport in Wheeling, IL., later joining Eastern Airlines on March 16,1964. After Eastern's demise he flew for Kiwi Airlines until they ceased operation.
Lee was a big USAC auto racing fan, having owned several midget race cars. He also owned an Indy car and ran at Indianapolis Motor speedway in the mid 1980's
He and his two sons were regulars around Midwest race tracks.
Lee was predeceased by his parents, and son Robert. He is survived by his wife Lorena, Panama City, Panama, Brother George (Linda), children Coral, WI.,George,TN., Amy, WA., Bonny, IL., and stepchildren Yankee and Essie, both in Panama.
