John H. Gosney was born in Buffalo, WY and passed away on November 5, 2015 at his home in Laramie, WY at the age of 84. He served with the 300th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, Battery A, the Cowboy Cannoneers, graduated from the University of Wyoming and was a highly successful petroleum geologist. He was a flight instructor and was hired by Eastern on May 22, 1967. After leaving Eastern in 1989 he continued pursuing his geology interests and piloted for the University of Wyoming. John was a member of ALPA, REPA, AOPA, EAA, Stunt Pilot Association, Antique Airplane Association, Wyoming Geological Association, 300th AFA Bn Association and BPOE (Elks Club). He was an avid hunter, fisherman, skier and loved finding fossils and other geological specimens. He was a talented diviner finding water well sites using a forked willow branch. He is survived by three children, two sons and a daughter, a sister and four step-children. His ashes were scattered near his cabin in Centennial, WY in July, 2016.
